- Lexar just launched the world’s first market-ready 1TB SDXC card
- The 1TB SD Card offers read/write speeds of 95MB/s and 70MB/s, respectively.
- Priced at $500, you surely need to pay a hefty price to get that terabyte of storage on your camera
The new Lexar 1TB 633x SDXC UHS-I card features a read speed of up to 95MB/s and a video recording speed class of V30, which means it can sustain at least 30MB/s continuous video recording.
With 4K video cameras and high volumes of high-resolution images being used and shot on a daily basis, the need for a faster and larger storage medium arises, and Lexar’s offering is just here to solve that. It aims to help content creators do more without worrying about the storage limits that often.
“Almost fifteen years ago, Lexar announced a 1GB SD card. Today, we are excited to announce 1TB of storage capacity in the same convenient form factor,” says Lexar Senior Marketing Manager Joey Lopez.
Lexar was reviving itself after being discontinued by its parent company Micron, after being sold to Chinese company Longsys in late 2017.
The new Lexar 1TB SDXC card is priced at $500.
