2017 indeed is the year of RGB, and we have even predicted that in 2018, that RGB-all-the-things scheme on computer peripherals and hardware will be much more adopted, thanks to personalization-hungry enthusiasts.

Now, with line to that introduction, Plextor has officially launched its latest line of NVMe PCIe SSDs under the M9Pe series. There’s three models including one high-end PCIe SSD which is the only one that features the RGB lighting, as well as two M.2 SSDs, with capacities up to 1TB. They are also guaranteed an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) of no less than 1.5 million hours as well as a 5-year warranty.

The Plextor M9Pe(Y), which is highest-end model among the line has a black and red heatsink, combined with 3-mode RGB lighting on the place where we can see.

While the M9Pe(G) variant is a M.2 one which also comes with a heatsink, though it doesn’t feature RGB lighting (it makes sense because can we actually see it when its placed on your computer?)

The M9Pe(GN), on the other hand, is just a barebones M.2 SSD, no heatsink or RGB lighting what-so-ever.

According to Fay Ho, Head of Channel Markets at LITE-ON Storage SBG, one of their inspirations in developing products and relevant technologies are the rapid growth of eSports gaming, that will provide gamers, either amateur or professional, the competitive edge and reliability that they need.

Pricing and Availability

Plextor haven’t announced the pricing for the three new SSD models but we’re sure that these things will hit the market anytime soon!
