OPPO’s latest offering is finally coming to the Philippine shore after a month of it being launched in China. The new A83 is also joining the 18:9 display ratio bandwagon, although there’s some catch – there’s no fingerprint scanner at all.
The rumored specs of the A83 include a 5.7-inch HD+ with a resolution of 1440 x 720 (18:9 aspect ratio), with 2.5D curved glass as well as unspecified Octa-core CPU paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal, expandable storage through microSD card – making this phone intact with its price point.
There’s also a 13MP rear camera, and 8MP camera on the front. OPPO higlights this phone having A.I technologies such as A.I Beauty Technology and Facial Recognition. All of that is run under OPPO’s ColorOS 3.2 (Android 7.1 Nougat) and powered by a 3,090mAh battery pack.
While OPPO is making this an 18:9 display (effectively removing the space for a fingerprint sensor in front), there’s no fingerprint reader at all.
Lastly, the colors available are Champagne Gold and Black
