Officially unveiled earlier today, the Meizu M6 was the sixth generation model of the company’s M Series family.
In order to achieve a vibrant metallic look despite the fact the M6 was made of polycarbonate materials, Meizu said they used a process called Non-Conductive Vacuum Metallization (NCVM) technology.
Meizu did a little tweaks on the front side of the device as well, with the ambient sensor placed on the left and the selfie camera moved to the right. The M6 retains the Home button below the display, and inside it is the mTouch fingerprint sensor, that can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds.
Specs and Features
The Meizu M6 has a 5.2-inch 1280 x 720 HD display and it’s powered by an 8-core unspecified processor @ 1.5GHz, with either 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage, all while running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Flyme 6 on top, in addition to Meizu’s One Mind AI Engine.
The M6 has a hybrid dual SIM slot, which we hate because there’s why put dual sim capabilities at all when you need to sacrifice in order to expand your storage?
Oh, there’s also a 3.5mm audio jack, a micro USB port, a 3070mAh battery
Cameras and Optics
Also, there’s an 8MP front selfie camera with an f/2.0 sensor – a significant upgrade from the 5MP shooter of the previous model. On the back, we have a 13MP main camera with an RGBW color sensor that improves the image clarity by reducing noise reduction.
Pricing and Availability
The Meizu M6 should be available in the coming days. The 2GB RAM +16GB ROM model will sell for ¥699 (~$106) / (~PhP5,4K) and the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM version will get a ¥899 (~$137) / (~PhP6,9K) price tag.
It will also come in 4 distinct colors: black, blue, silver, and gold.
