Earlier today, Apple took down its online store unexpectedly and replaced it with some message, promising ‘something special’ is on the way. Now it seems that a new iPhone and an upgraded iPad was added in store for their fans.
While some online stores continues to be unavailable, the company has updated its homepage with new photos, revealing a special revamped (RED) edition iPhone 7 & 7 Plus – which as you can see comes in red – as well as a brand new 9.7-inch iPad intended to replace the iPad Air.
The special handset is the outcome of Apple’s partnership with (RED) which aims to fight and raise awareness of AIDS. The device practically has the same specs as the standard model, but comes in a new sweet red design. The RED edition iPhone 7 will sell at $749 for the 4.7-inch version and $869 for the Plus-sized variant.
As Apple remarks,

“Every purchase contributes to the Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS programs and help deliver an AIDS-free generation.”
The new iPad was simply called ‘iPad’ – and it will sport a 9.7-inch retina display with 2048×1536 resolution, a 64-bit A9 chip as well as 10 hours of battery life and the best feature by far is its reduced price. Unlike Apple’s previous tablet lineup that retailed at $599 (~Php30k), the new iPad will be priced at $329 (~Php16,470).
Orders for the RED iPhone 7 as well as the new iPad will start on March 24th. Check out Apple’s official site for additional information.
